The Gate

A simple gate,
Much like any other gate,
But this one embraces something I desire,
Love,
Love has called me to her,
Something I never felt,
And I cannot have it for this gate is locked,
I looked at Love with admiration; beauty,
I asked Love to go on a voyage with me,
Her voice, ever so sweetly, said she could not,
My heart went heavy and through it I asked why,
She replied,” For this gate is locked. You can wait for the day it unlocks.”
I waited,
I never abandoned the gate,
But my heart cannot wait any more,
I’m bathed in sorrow,
My mind and I are not one anymore,
My sentiments are with no control,
I am set to break this gate open,
But yet, I wait,
I wait for The Gate to open.
